Are you a nuclear construction leader who is at your best in the field, running contractor teams, keeping work moving through the radiologically controlled area, and turning systems back over to the plant on time? A commercial nuclear generating station in the Pacific Northwest is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead field implementation of major power block upgrades and replacements.

What this role offers:

Location: Richland, WA

Full-Time, Onsite, 12-month contract with high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule:4 x 10's (Monday-Thursday); may include night shift during outage periods

Salary Range: $40-$50/hr

Responsibilities:

Lead construction teams and contractor supervision (General Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen) to complete capital project work safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards

Coordinate daily with craft, suppliers, work order planners, and Health Physics/Radiation Protection to execute work in radiological areas within dose and quality baselines

Provide construction input from conceptual design through construction, testing, turnover, and closeout

Perform risk analyses, define and approve corrective actions, and set priorities to protect scope, cost, and schedule

Balance and prioritize construction resources and communicate manpower needs, baseline status, and recommended actions to project leadership

Monitor and report on project safety, cost, schedule, and quality performance, and present project status to internal stakeholders

Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Design, and Design Authority to resolve complex field issues and keep work moving

Hold contractor teams accountable for performance and compliance with station policies and procedures

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience at a nuclear power plant

Proven experience managing large-scale outside contractors and subcontract administration

Hands-on experience planning and executing work in radiological environments

In-depth knowledge of construction methods, cost and scheduling, and construction strategy development

Experience with commercial nuclear plant system replacements or upgrades on complex, high-risk projects

Able to work in an active industrial plant environment, including tight spaces, ladder climbing, and work at heights with fall protection

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or project management preferred

Knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and project start-up/turnover preferred
