Position Overview
EGS is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support our DOE client in Richland, WA. The Construction Manager will apply extensive and diversified knowledge of construction management principles and practices while supporting small-to-medium Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), capital improvement, and facility/infrastructure upgrade projects.
The Construction Manager will independently manage conventional aspects of assigned projects from initiation through closeout in accordance with applicable quality standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently manage conventional aspects of small-to-medium, non-stand-alone EPC, capital improvement, and facility/infrastructure upgrade projects from initiation through closeout.
• Plan and conduct work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard construction techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Manage fixed-price and time-and-material contracts with subcontractors across multiple facilities.
• Perform routine construction site field walkdowns and interface directly with subcontractor management.
• Manage pre-construction activities and coordinate with deployed and matrixed resources.
• Define construction project objectives, background, and expectations required for Constructability Reviews.
• Ensure facility and site conditions that affect or potentially introduce risk to construction activities are appropriately defined during construction planning.
• Support procurement and RFP activities.
• Coordinate construction activities with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and ESH&Q.
• Support subcontractor management and construction project execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Candidates must possess:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, OR
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Experience managing construction personnel and/or construction projects.
• High-risk construction experience.
Years of experience used to satisfy an educational equivalency are in addition to the 10 years of related experience required for the position.
No certification is required.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are particularly desirable:
• Department of Energy nuclear facility experience.
• Experience with electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) field installations on construction projects.
• Knowledge of the development and administration/process of construction contracts.
• Previous experience supporting high-risk radiological work.
