Electrical Engineering Manager, Power & Electronics
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager, Power & Electronics for a full-time, direct position in Oak Ridge, TN. This role will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for facility electrical power systems, machine power distribution, control electronics, and electrical hardware while ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers and technicians.
Oversee design, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of 480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and generators.
Provide engineering support for machine power distribution, drives, controls, sensors, wiring, and electronics.
Maintain electrical standards and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE, and applicable safety requirements.
Partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime, and reliability issues.
Maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/electronics interface documentation.
Manage contractors, integrators, and vendors.
Support capital projects, including scope development, design reviews, installation, and commissioning.
Drive improvements in electrical safety, system reliability, and energy efficiency.
Serve as the Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
7+ years of relevant electrical/power electronics engineering experience.
Proven experience leading engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, NEC, NFPA 70E, UL/CE requirements, and electrical safety.
Knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.
Preferred
Manufacturing or nuclear industry experience.
Project management experience.
Embedded systems and firmware development experience.
Active DOE "Q" clearance highly desired.
