Responsible for Paper Machine safety, environment, quality, cost and production with a focus on the floor level operation.
Assist in managing a system with the purpose of optimizing overall paper machine performance results.
Responsible for the direction of the Process Engineer, Shift Facilitators, and union hourly employees as applied to their assigned paper machine.
Lead Paper Machine Performance in regard to productivity, uptime, quality rejects, and other paper machine improvement projects
Apply the paper machine performance escalation methodology
Prepare and plan for outages and Lock Out/Tag Out and lead the execution strategy
Serve as the floor level lead in the implementation of a Continuous Improvement culture
Coordinate Product Development Activities at the floor level and direct Process Engineer and other resources on floor level trials.
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent Paper Machine Supervisory experience
5-10 years of Crew Level or Machine Level Supervisory Experience is required
Computer skills /ability to develop a proficiency is mandatory
Work is performed in both an office environment and all lumber mill operational areas where incumbent may be exposed to environmental noises and hazards as well as severe climate changes.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
Supervises paper machine Process Engineer, Paper Machine Facilitators, and Paper Machine Crews.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work at the crew level; performance management; mentoring
Direct reporting responsibilities to the Paper Machine Supervisor which includes assignment of work to Crews, Process Engineer, and compliance with policies and applicable laws
Directs and supervises the work of contract employees on floor level activities.
