Contract Position: Site QA/QC Manager with CWI Certification
We are looking for a reliable QA/QC Manager for a long-term, heavy industrial project in California. You will be a key member of the project team and as such, only highly qualified candidates will be considered. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation of the quality control plan for the company. A positive and collaborative attitude as well as expert knowledge of the codes, standards and specifications will be required.
Manages the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and workmanship to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
Proposes corrective actions to improve compliance with quality specifications.
Recommends new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards.
Requires a bachelor's degree.
Typically reports to Project Manager and Corporate Quality Control Authority
Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.
Ensures that project milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Has full authority for personnel actions of subordinates.
Extensive knowledge of codes, standards and specifications.
Extensive knowledge of corporate QA/QC Policies and Procedures
Understand and well versed in ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, ASME Section V, AISC and AWS D1.1
Maintains documentation for all equipment deliveries as written in the QA/QC plan/owner requirements.
Conducts progress update meetings with the Lead QA/QC Manager at regular intervals.
Reviews all equipment submittals for completeness and accuracy.
Regulates the distribution of all quality documentation for the Company.
Monitors all quality-related activities pertinent to a given project and adjusts strategy as needed.
Verifies contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
Capable of working long hours (50+)
Able to manage multiple discipline inspectors.
Capable of coordinating and develop testing sequencing.
Capable of managing and developing all associated turnover documentation
Prefer experience on heavy industrial projects including Steel Mills, Power Generation, General Manufacturing and Wood Products sectors.
May audit vendors, suppliers and other procurement sources to ensure they are in compliance and qualified to provide products or services to the project and company.
Requires a minimum 5+ years experience in similar role.
Ability to utilize all MS Office programs and Blue Beam Software
3 years supervisory experience is also required.
Experienced personnel in this role are encouraged to apply.
