The Manager of Gas Engineering provides direction and oversight to the engineering and design team responsible for executing high quality utility engineering and design activities for multiple clients and projects.


LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED. NO PER DIEM OR RELOCATION OFFERED AT THIS TIME.


Job Responsibilities


•Lead, manage, and provide strategic direction for an internal team and third-party engineers


•Maintain Safety as the foundation for all activities


•Mentor engineers through leadership, motivation, coaching and training; perform project audits/peer reviews and provide feedback to enhance learning, improve deliverables, cultivate talent, and ensure compliance to standards and processes


•Establish department goals, objectives, and strategies; and optimize work practices and processes


•Review project feasibility studies, cost estimating, project risk analyses, and conceptual, preliminary and detail design work to ensure quality, client satisfaction, and staff development


•Oversee/manage process for scope, cost, and schedule changes


•Enforce management of change as it relates to discipline budgets


•Accountable for achieving team objectives and managing team performance


•Oversee and track the work of E2’s internal engineering team, third party engineering, and contractor(s) to ensure work is executed and managed in accordance with approved plans, contracts, schedules and budgets


•Communicate mission, objectives and safety philosophy to build a strategic vision in overseeing the work of others


•Demonstrate customer focus and client service in all actions and through development of departmental strategy


•Embody the leadership traits of professional communication, responsibility, relationship building, negotiation, trust, and conflict resolution


•Communicate and integrate client decisions and objectives to engineering and project teams


•Perform risk management to minimize project risks


•Other tasks as required

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of gas engineering industry experience related to pipeline, regulation, and/or valve automation projects.
• Ability to navigate the internal organizational procedures and interpret policies/procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and accountability
• Proactively communicate mission, objectives and safety philosophy in decision making and supervising the work of others
• Collaborative and motivational approach to managing a team and assigning work
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Instrumentation) from and ABET accredited university or college required
• State of California Professional Engineer license required
• Graduate business training is highly desirable.
