[QA Inspector] NDT Inspector – Level III RT/UT/MT – QA/QC Oversight – Pipeline Installation – MidEastern U.S.

IQC, Inc. is in need of a Level III / Level II ASNT certified inspector in the following NDT methods: Magnetic Particle (MT), Radiography (RT), and Ultrasonic (UT) testing.
This is to support the installation of a 42” dia. natural gas pipeline in the Mid-Eastern U.S.; along with compressor stations and interconnect facilities. Client is requesting an individual to perform third party oversight of NDT activities. Details are as follows:

NDT Inspector must be certified Level III in at least one of the NDT methods (MT, UT, RT); while also being ASNT certified in Level II in the remaining methods. Per the client, the inspector must have a minimum of 5+ years of oversight experience in the methods that they are Level II.

The NDT inspector will act as the project’s NDT approving authority; reporting to the Construction Project Manager, and consult with the welding engineer for conflict resolution. The NDT Inspector will be required to have experience in the following methods used to determine weld acceptability:
Magnetic Particle (MT)
Radiography (RT) (Conventional or Digital (RTR))
Ultrasonic (UT) (Conventional or Automatic Ultrasonic Testing (AUT))

- Daily review /audit of all NDT data and inspections performed by NDT vendor
- Complete forms/logs pertaining to daily audit/review responsibilities
- Catalogue required film, weld files, paperwork, and project forms
- Prepare and maintain Weld Log and Weld Repair Log
- PHMSA audit support
- Prepare final project documentation related auditing/review function

Typical work day is expected to be from 4:00 PM until 12:00 AM. This is an offset shift allowing the NDT inspector to complete their review of the day’s production prior to the next day’s shift start. The client is expecting eight hours per day, six days per week (6/8s). Start date is tentatively scheduled for mid-May, and has an approximate duration of six months.
