Contract Assignment - No per diem No expenses
Perform routine design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic drafting techniques, procedures, and knowledge of certain industry standards under close supervision. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent's job knowledge and abilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops under close supervision, CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information. Marks up works in progress for self or others to draft (or CADD). Prepares simple engineering and constructions drawing from scratch, sketches, or verbal instruction, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques (e.g. P&IDs, ISOs, Plot Plans, etc.). Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc. May utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. Field notes are neatly arranged, accurate and complete. Sketches are readable by anyone and include all pertinent dimensions, notes, and job number. All material is signed and dated with job number. Keeps supervisor informed of progress. Quality assurance for personal work assignments. Supports field assignments as required.
KEY COMPENTENCIES: Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to utilize time management efficiently. Ability to demonstrate a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities, and implemented in work designed. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometry proficiency in utilizing manual drafting techniques for a variety of non-routine assignments. Working knowledge in CADD equipment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school education or equivalent. Basic drafting technology from a vo-tech or other applicable program. Minimum of 5-9 years of technical work experience. As an alternative, a minimum of an Associate or Bachelor's Degree program for the relevant discipline and relevant experience in that discipline. Nothing is guaranteed, but the intended duration is 6 months based on the current work load. This could be shortened or extended.
