AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Energy Engineer for employment in the Germantown, MD office.
The Energy Engineer to perform system modeling, energy analysis, GIS mapping and on-site energy audits for our energy program portfolio. Occasional travel will be required to inspect and analyze facilities. Top performing candidates will be responsive to customer needs and help to identify new and better ways to conduct engineering analysis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
•Responsible for engineering analysis
•Responsible for electromechanical design
•Responsible for feasibility studies
•Participates in investment grade audits
•Responsible for report preparation
•Conducts energy audits, and develops energy savings calculations and develop cost estimates for energy conservation measures (ECMs) at large federal, commercial, and institutional facilities
•Identifies and quantifies energy conservation measures
•Analyzes utility bill data to determine customer energy performance parameters
•Performs energy savings calculations using building modeling (eQUEST, or Trane Trace) and temperature- bin analysis methods to calculate savings associated with ECM upgrades
•Writes ECM descriptions and supporting documents to be included in proposal submissions, and present proposals to clients at oral interviews
•Responsible for project management
•Responsible for financial analysis and reporting
•Bachelor's degree in engineering
•5+ years of experience working on energy savings projects
•Engineering analysis experience within the context of energy savings performance contracts
•Modeling using tools such as eQUEST and Trane Trace
•Excellent communication skills
•Fluent with Microsoft Office products
•Experience performing Energy audits of facilities and energy consuming systems
•Candidates may be asked to pass project drug screen
•Experience in Energy Analysis and Energy Auditing, HVAC Design or EMS Design
•Master's degree in a related technical field
•Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is preferred
•Professional Engineering Certification
•Knowledgeable of HVAC equipment and systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, variable speed drives and motors
•Possess a working knowledge of Energy Management Systems, and be able to develop control strategies to reduce energy consumption
•Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M)
