Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Temp to Direct

Location: MI
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months....possibly perm
Hours: 40 per week
Per diem, mob-demob

Perform design and traditional Owners Engineering (OE) services within power generation facilities and support business development tasks. Experience in renewables, fossil fired, and storage technologies.

Have the capability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Conduct analytical project work related to electrical power plant system analysis including load flow, short circuit studies using standard industry power system modeling software including ETAP, and others.

Participate in electrical system procurement through specifications development, bid evaluation, and factory testing witnessing as needed.

Conduct failure analysis related to electrical system equipment and systems.

Establish meetings and participate in reviews with clients on electrical engineering and design issues.

Lead technical staff in supporting projects and preparing/completing/reviewing deliverables.

Support managing client relationships and marketing activities including proposal development in response to requests for proposals.

Lead project management of small to medium sized projects.

Conduct training and mentoring of junior electrical engineers.

Supports and participates in the development of procedures design standards and standard templates for deliverables (e.g. specifications etc.) used by EE engineers on projects.

Must be capable of developing engineering man-hour budgets for work on proposals and managing the budget under the supervision of the section manager and project manager during implementation.

Knowledge of distributed generation and micro-grids as well as process control and control systems, including programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems, is beneficial.

Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians

Required Qualifications:
Requires a BSEE from an ABET accredited program

5-10 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in the power industry

PE registration is preferred or the ability to become registered is a requirement

Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills,including proficiency in writing and editing technical documents.

Strong leadership skills enabling the candidate to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team or design group on a plant design project are required.

Field experience, including startup and commissioning, experience is desired

Must have good problem solving skills

Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and electrical design software

Position will include an expectation of less than 15% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.
