Flex Op/ICE job in Texas 4 months

Flex Operator (Operator & IC&E Tech)  need  located in Texas for 4 months responsible for all operational aspects of the plant during the work shift, including personnel and equipment safety. 

working 50 hours a week!

Per Diem Plus Mob/Demob is offered.

The Flex Operator ensures safe and efficient start-up, operation, and shutdown as dispatched. Also included in operational support the prospective candidate must be able to provide I&C and Electrical support, repairs and troubleshooting capabilities. 

• Responsibilities will include operating and monitoring the power plant equipment, recording operational data, report abnormalities, and performing maintenance tasks. 
• Have knowledge of and performs the job functions according to all safety and environmental regulations and best practices. 
• The position requires basic computer skills and the ability to operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts and various chemical testing devices. 
• Requires the ability to work unsupervised around operating mechanical devices, above ground and in confined spaces, all in accordance with established safety procedures. 
• Participates in company safety programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment. 
• Performs inspections, water analysis, and troubleshooting, to optimized plant performance. 
• Performs scheduled and un-scheduled plant maintenance to optimize plant availability and improve cost effectiveness. 
• Collects and documents plant data accurately, to ensure that historical recording and reporting is done and takes corrective action if data is out of parameters. 
• Performs routine and other maintenance within the bounds of their training and experience on plant equipment. 
• Participates in a rotating shift schedule and on-call duty to satisfy labor needs. 
• Participates in the training and qualification program. 
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. 
• Other activities as assigned by the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. 

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 
• Minimum of two year’s operating or maintenance experience. 
• Other skills required include knowledge of computer systems, software and plant equipment sufficient to identify and diagnose abnormalities and effect corrective actions commensurate with their skills and experience. 
• Have strong cross-functional and interpersonal communications skills. 
• Incumbent must adhere to established policies and procedures under the direction of the O&M supervisor. 
• Driving on company business is a requirement of this position and as such, the incumbent shall have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license. 
• Must perform the requirements of a First Responder and participate in the company respiratory program. Performs repetitive and non-repetitive physical duties. Requiring lifts, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, climbing, working in awkward positions, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 
• Perform safe and efficient operation of the turbine generator, and related auxiliary systems from the control room using the plant’s Distributive Control System (DCS) and other available controls and indications. 
• Coordinate with Load Dispatcher to maintain plant MW output as directed and in accordance with the Power Purchase Agreement. 
• Perform start-up, operation, and shutdown of equipment, systems, and the plant in accordance with approved plant procedures. 
• Monitor and record plant operating parameters inside the control room; make adjustments as required to maintain safe and efficient operation of the plant. 
• Upon detecting faulty equipment operation, diagnose the cause then take proper action to restore the equipment and plant to a safe condition. This includes stopping equipment and switching to standby equipment if required and available. 
• Monitor plant air and water emissions and take steps to maintain within acceptable limits. Immediately notify Shift Supervisor of abnormal situations, including those that may result in violation of regulatory requirements. 
• Direct the actions of the Auxiliary Operator as required to start-up, operate, shutdown, and respond to abnormal situations from outside the control room. 
• Provide periodic reports to the Shift Supervisor regarding plant status. 
• Observe, report, troubleshoot, and correct situations that are likely to develop into operational problems or safety hazards. 
• Report and respond to chemical spills and leaks in accordance with plant emergency response plans. 
• Monitor and operate equipment circuit breakers and switches as required for safe and efficient operation of the plant. This includes opening, locking, and tagging for isolation and maintenance. 
• Monitor, maintain, and verify proper chemistry control of boiler water, boiler feedwater, cooling water, condensate, condensate makeup, and wastewater. 
• Obtain thorough turnover from Control Room Operator being relieved, including special orders and unusual operating conditions. Review operating logs and inspect plant controls and indications. 
• Give thorough turnover to the relieving Control Room Operator for special orders and unusual operating conditions. 
• Perform tests on critical safety systems, as directed, including lube oil pumps, turbine valves, turbine system trips, boiler trips and permissives. 
• Test and operate plant fire and chemical safety equipment as directed. 
• Perform and direct equipment isolation in accordance with plant lockout/tagout procedures. 
• Maintain work area in a clean, orderly condition. 
• Participate in scheduled safety meetings and training. 
• Assist in training of subordinate personnel. 
• Replace panel indication lights as required. 
• Replace chart paper, printer paper, and toner/ink cartridges on control room devices as required. 
• Perform minor maintenance as directed during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance periods. 
• Safely operate vehicles on-site as required. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor. 
• Perform routine maintenance when plant is not operating.
