Manager of Projects, Fossil Open Shop
Bids, executes, and manages fossil project work (primarily lump sum) within a geographic region. Responsible for safety, client interface, budgets, schedules, controls, and other project related activities. Collaborates with business development, bids & proposals, estimating, and other support groups to win new fossil work (may include Process & Industrial work). Supports Maintenance & Modification (M&M) Operations and Projects Construction Organization (PCO) within existing customer contracts.
Must exhibit and demonstrate ability to manage and direct open shop craft.
Executes and manages scope, schedule, cost, safety, human performance and quality for projects utilizing D&Z/PMI methodologies and best practices
Supports bids & proposal efforts, estimating development, reviews, client presentations and relationships, and grows regional project work
Responsible for budget and profitability on all assigned contracts/purchase orders/releases
Identifies and develops regional talent and builds effective, diverse teams.
Captures and shares internal and external industry knowledge and best practices through continuous learning and development
Key relationships with - Client personnel and project team, project support team, vendors/suppliers, and Sr. Management
Project Management experience in Fossil, Nuclear, Chemical, Process, Oil & Gas, industrial or other related industry utilizing an open shop labor workforce.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and experience interfacing directly with clients
Experience in estimating, working with Gated Project Process, and PMI methodologies
Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering, project management, and estimating software packages
Proactive leadership, team building, problems solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills, high standards of integrity, assumes responsibility, and commercial contract knowledge
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
15+ years. PMP preferred, PE Preferred.
