Piping Designer / Drafter

Responsible for creating diagrams for aspects of Oil & Gas Pipeline projects. The Piping Designer/Drafter will be responsible for preparing layout and design of piping design systems using 2D modeling software specifically AUTOCAD. Breadth of oil & gas experience and the desire to apply ones experiences to better design and operational problem solving is highly desired. This position will function under the direction of Lead Designer. This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with client specifications. 

Responsibilities
Prepare layout and design of oil & gas piping design systems AUTOCAD
Producing quality piping design layouts, orientation of process equipment and interconnecting piping
Generating Piping Line List and Tie-In list when required
Design pipeline systems using Plant 3D.
Assist engineers and designers in resolving piping design issues Calculating lay out rights-of-way and/or street dimensions and angles.
Generating Iso-Metric Drawings using Plant 3D for fabrication during construction.
Constructing dimensional relationships of one part to another and a relationship of various parts to entire project, utilizing knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics
Creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawing, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment
Incorporate redlines provided by the engineer.
Ability to validate design information (material spec, constructability, etc.)

Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D and Plant 3D
0 to 3 years prior experience in the oil & gas pipeline industry
Knowledge of pipe and fittings, valves, and piping specialties.
Ability to develop isometrics from orthographic drawing.
Knowledge of MicroStation and/or ESRI GIS platform is a plus
Thoroughly knowledgeable of types of construction drawings and details required by their discipline
Knowledge of industrial processes, equipment, design philosophies, codes and practices
Must have AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D and Plant 3D experience. Valve Automation for utility gas pipeline, pipeline design, Autodesk Civil3Dand Arch Map GIS.
Experience creating pipeline features list for in-line assessment feasibility
Excellent organizational skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Basic communication skills both written and oral are expected
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Products and AutoCAD
Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills are required
Must be able to effectively discuss, explain and coordinate designs with drafters and other disciplines cross-functionally
Must be able to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor
Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted with minimal supervision
Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
