Two openings. First starts 4/1/24 and the second starts 6/1/24

Project:  The project consists of 133 GE 1.5 and 1.6 wind turbines. The repower project will replace certain components (blades, hubs, and select other equipment depending on turbine configuration) on all 133 units.

Job Description:

TransGlobal Energy seeks a dedicated and safety-conscious Contractor Monitor to join our team. As a Contractor Monitor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Contractors and Subcontractors adhere to the Client's high standards of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) practices. Your primary responsibilities will involve HSSE monitoring, reporting, and guiding to maintain a safe work environment across all active work areas.

Responsibilities:

HSSE Monitoring and Guidance:

Provide ongoing monitoring, guidance, and coaching on HSSE practices.
Ensure that Contractors and Subcontractors perform all work strictly per our Client's HSSE managed system, policies, and procedures.
Permit Compliance:

Ensure that project permit requirements are understood and complied with by all parties involved.

HSSE Reporting:
Assist in the reporting of HSSE incidents, near-misses, and observations to the appropriate channels.

On-Site Presence:
Maintain continuous on-site presence by rotating through all active work areas.
Complete the Daily Construction Report in accordance with the Client's standard format.
Submit the report to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
Support to Construction Manager:

Support the Construction Manager in fulfilling HSSE-related roles and responsibilities.
Report any QA/QC or other concerns to the Construction Manager when necessary.


On-Ground Inspections:
Assist with on-ground inspections as directed by the Construction Manager and as time allows.

Understanding of Work Scopes:
Possess a comprehensive understanding of various work scopes, including civil work, transport, crane operations, and turbine work.
Communication Skills:

Utilize strong social and communication skills to facilitate positive HSSE outcomes on-site.

Certification:
Hold or obtain a Client Construction Manager certification within 3 weeks of selection.
HSSE Knowledge:

Be well-versed in understanding, applying, administering, and implementing Clients HSSE managed system, policies, procedures, best practices, and culture.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role or in the construction industry is preferred.
Commitment to safety and HSSE practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with construction processes and procedures.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to adapt to changing job requirements.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
