Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Director to work on the development and implantation of state-of-the-art carbon capture projects across the country. The Project Director is a key position reporting to the Major Projects Director to actively plan, develop, oversee EPC contractors, manage commissioning, staffing, training, and adherence to protocols for safe work practices. The Project Director will also require extensive collaboration with EHS, asset management, engineering, project delivery, finance, and regulatory compliance teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Planning, project management and development of projects for power generation and industrial customers. 
•    Overall job site responsibilities monitoring the EPC contractor with focus on HSE, schedule and quality for an on-time and on-budget project. 
•    Communicate effectively with project counterparties to ensure the goals of the project are achieved.
•    Create long and short-term plans, which include setting measurable targets, to adhere to deadlines.
•    Advise and assist Owner in making decisions when presented with multiple options related to the progress of the project.
•    Communicate with company management to keep the project aligned with the overall business objectives.
•    Develop, coach, and support the project team members on all construction related activities to achieve project goals.
•    Assist Owner with the monitoring of costs affecting the construction of the Project.
•    Work with project team to ensure compliance with company policies, governmental rules/regulations, and regulatory standards.
•    Provide valuable and timely recommendations to Owner’s team
•    Interface directly with client representatives, Architect-Engineer (A-E) representatives, union officials, subcontractors, and security personnel.
•    On union projects, assist in jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
•    Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
•    Maintain official project logs and documentation files.
•    Assist with implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
•    Provide direction to planning, scheduling, logistics, and engineering functions as required.

Job Requirements:
•    Proven knowledge of Construction Safety practices, processes, as well as leading and lagging indicators.
•    Thoroughly understand Owner’s contract requirements; initiate and manage changes in a timely and efficient manner.
•    Proven Engineering and Construction exposure in multiple disciplines and projects.
•    Working knowledge of construction pricing, scheduling, and execution processes.
•    Experienced in planning, developing, and administering project tendering processes.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead project teams from contract award to project close-out.
•    Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods) as well as Company policies, procedures, and standards.
•    Ability to recruit, train, develop and mentor plant management and field talent
•    Knowledge to understand and follow the Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory requirements for anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading facilities
•    Ability to design and implement processes and procedures to create an operating environment that is safe and optimizes both uptime & throughput
•    Ability to triage multiple (potentially conflicting) priorities and deadlines for diverse stakeholders
•    Prior experience with union jurisdiction and labor agreements, with specific experience in union negotiations essential.
•    Effective communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required.
•    Computer proficient with Microsoft Office programs, to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
•    Must be self-directed and motivated, and work in the best interests of the company in a proactive manner.
•    Working knowledge in the review of contracts, design specifications, codes, and standards. 
•    Working with management and team in their Houston office. 

Physical Requirements:
•    Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and walking.
•    Must be able to hear emergency alarms, see peripherally, have a keen sense of smell, and be able to use all extremities.
•    Capable of lifting to 50 pounds
•    Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.

Education / Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree required with a preference in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or similar) or Construction (preferred)
•    Master’s in Business Administration a plus
•    10+ years of experience in management (i.e., leading operating teams and team leaders) in Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or other process-related industry (required)
•    Experience with relevant mechanical and process equipment, components, and current communication and control systems (required)
