Title:                   Operations & Maintenance Technician
Position Type:    Direct Hire
Location:            Stanton, CA
Reports to:         Plant Manager
Status:               Non-Exempt
Compensation:  $30 - $60/hr.

Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician supporting a generating fleet located in Stanton, CA that employs GE LM6000 Hybrid EGT with integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems. The Operations & Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for maintaining and controlling processes for equipment such as gas turbines, air and gas compressors, generators, motors, pumps, emissions monitors, reverse osmosis units and demineralizers. The Operations & Maintenance Technician will provide support by way of operating, installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Operate Gas turbines, steam turbines and all associated equipment safely and efficiently
•    Meet the facility-established safety, environmental, operating, and maintenance goals and objectives
•    Complete all required safety and environmental training
•    Participate in the facility Safety Committee
•    Complete the Operations and Maintenance Technician Qualification Program
•    Perform operational activities required to support start-up, shutdown, and normal operation of plant equipment and systems
•    Report equipment conditions or other facility anomalies that could affect the plant status to the Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager and/or Maintenance Manager
•    Keep accurate operating logs, environmental records, and other administrative documentation needed to support the operation and maintenance of the facility
•    Complete required electrical switching and lockout-tagout of plant equipment and systems in accordance with approved facilities lockout procedures, industry guidelines and prudent operations and maintenance practices
•    Complete clean-up activities required to maintain plant cleanliness including cleaning, painting, and trash removal from the various areas of the facility
•    Perform assigned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency maintenance and inspection of plant mechanical and electrical equipment
•    Respond to abnormal operating situations in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
•    Complete routine cycle chemistry testing and make the necessary adjustments needed to operate within the established facility operating parameters
•    Complete all tasks and instructions as requested by the Production Manager and/or Maintenance Manager
•    Respond to computer-generated data, instrumentation, gauges, readouts, and variations in color
•    Perform required field adjustments of plant equipment and systems to ensure that equipment operates in accordance with established operating parameters and environmental permit requirements
•    Comply with all required site safety requirements for corrective actions necessary to eliminate potential safety hazards in the facility

Job Requirements:
•    Knowledge of and ability to understand fundamental principles related to physics, mathematics, AC & DC electrical theory, heat transfer and fluid flow, thermal dynamics and chemistry
•    Knowledge of power plant safety, policies and procedures, especially in area such as chemical handling, high-energy systems, lockout tag-out, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, first aid, rotating machinery, and heavy equipment
•    Proficiency and experience in the fundamentals of water steam cycle chemistry and other relevant plant chemistry applications

Physical Requirements:
•    Standing for extended hours and varied shifts, as required by schedules
•    Ability to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; crawl to and through confined space areas; climb to and work from elevated platforms and walkways at elevations of 75 feet or more
•    Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells
•    Must be able to use other safety equipment as required by plant management

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or GED is required.
•    Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•    Must have 3 to 5 years of Gas turbine experience
Some I & C technical shooting would also be very helpful

Compensation Range: $30 - $60/hr.
