Job Description
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity with a rapidly growing packaging company in the greater Knoxville area. This role will serve as part of the Site Leadership Team and will lead engineering performance. Key KPI's for this role will include the reduction of down time, safety protocols, and standardizing new production processes. The starting pay for this position is $110,000/year with a full benefits package. Local or Regional candidates highly preferred.

Oversee the day-to-day performance of the engineering function, ensuring equipment reliability, uptime, and technical support across production.
Lead and implement technical and capital projects in alignment with site priorities and timelines, in close coordination with Operations and cross-functional stakeholders.
Drive improvement of technical changeovers and production readiness to reduce downtime and support throughput goals.
Ensure engineering activities meet safety and compliance standards; support audits and regulatory readiness in partnership with Quality and EHS.
Coordinate validation of equipment and systems in alignment with cGMP standards; maintain robust engineering documentation and change control processes.
Actively contribute to site improvement initiatives through structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and application of Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Manage, coach, and develop engineering staff; promote accountability, technical development, and collaboration within the team.

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Master�s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience with automated packaging or assembly systems (pharmaceutical packaging experience would be a plus).
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC�s and automation.
Experience with process optimization, machinery implementation.
Demonstrated experience with improving line efficiencies and output.
Demonstrated ability and desire to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrable experience with leading teams and individuals toward growth, professional success, and personal development.
Solution driven attitude and strong level of adaptability.
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
Project Management Certification is a plus.
