Job Description
** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Lighting Specialist to fill a three- year assignment in the Mobile, AL area.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Rates: $45.00- $50.00
Local candidates preferred; no per diem.
Required PPE: Hard hat, Reflective vest, Safety glasses
Manager note: This assignment involves sales. There are no incentives, and the worker will essentially be making their own schedule. In general, it will be 2 days in-person and 3 days remote.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masters degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
10 to 15 years of professional experience in lighting design or related roles.
Proficiency in advanced lighting design software and photometric analysis tools.
Expert-level knowledge of lighting technologies, including LED, control systems, and energy-efficient solutions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions, team leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Strong project management skills and experience in project documentation. A proven track record of successful lighting projects, demonstrating a commitment to quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lighting Design Leadership:
Take a leadership role in developing lighting designs for a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial applications.
Provide expert-level technical support to the lighting design team, including creating lighting layouts, conducting photometric analysis, and specifying fixtures and controls.
Develop detailed lighting specifications, ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards and client requirements.
Stay current with emerging lighting technologies and products, and lead the selection of appropriate fixtures and controls for projects.
Champion the integration of energy-efficient lighting solutions, including LED technologies, lighting controls, and daylight harvesting systems.
Conduct thorough site visits to inspect lighting installations, verify compliance with design specifications, and resolve complex technical issues.
Collaborate closely with clients to identify their specific lighting needs and preferences, offering expert guidance and innovative solutions.
Oversee and maintain detailed project records, including design plans, specifications, compliance reports, and as-built documentation.
Stay up to date with lighting-related regulations, codes, and standards, ensuring that designs are in full compliance.
Lead and mentor junior team members, foster collaboration with lighting engineers, electrical engineers, and other professionals, and ensure the seamless integration of lighting designs with overall project plans.
