Education:
10 + Years of related experience or a 4-year degree.
Experience:
Must have work experience in operational and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls discipline.
Must have combined experience in Construction, Engineering Design, Gas Compression stations and LNG Plant Startup, and/or Plant Engineering, Operations, and/or Maintenance experience.
Job responsibilities:
Abide by all safety rules and help establish and maintain a culture focused on safety.
Support implementation of project objectives & procedures.
Inspection of construction installations for compliance to drawings and specifications.
Assist in the planning for proper sequence and schedule of construction activities to ensure completion within schedule and budget requirements.
Ensure that the quality requirements of the applicable plans, specifications and standards are met.
Maintain an awareness of measurable quantities to be installed and monitor progress versus schedule requirements.
Identify installation problems, assist in developing solutions, and ensure corrective actions are taken by the craft, contractor, or vendor in accordance with an approved plan.
Maintain an awareness of equipment and material transportation schedules to ensure support of construction activities.
Support Site Management in administration of construction contract(s).
Conduct meetings as required (pre-bid, pre-mobilization, contractor orientation, JSA�s, project status).
Verify installation, test, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate industrial process electrical devices, equipment, and power distribution systems during all commissioning and operational phases of the project.
Responsible for the proper evaluation of all drawings and documents, including vendor documents, to complete all required tasks and provide corrections as necessary to ensure all documents are updated for completeness, detail, and accuracy.
Coordinates with project supervision or field engineer to complete as-built drawings and documents.
Performs electrical checks/testing and document per industry standards and project specific requirements.
Responsible to follow or create procedures for assigned work tasks in a safe manner utilizing required safety procedures such as LOTO, Arc Flash, Arc Blast, Shock Hazard.
May be required to supervise other technicians, subcontractors, or client personnel.
Skill Sets & Expertise:
The ability to check drawings, schematics, and documents for the equipment to verify the equipment is installed, tested and operating per manufactures and project design.
The ability to work with field engineers, owner's personnel, construction, and team members to complete daily tasks.
The knowledge of electrical testing standards, safety standards and electrical code standards is required.
Working knowledge of industrial power & process plant electrical distribution and control equipment. For example: Switchyards, Switchgear and motor control centers, Various motors, Protective relaying and control circuits, Power & Distribution transformers, Variable frequency drives, Generators.
Technical skill and knowledge to verify installation, testing, commissioning, and electrical devices as well as provide training and troubleshooting.
Independently performs the daily tasks within area of expertise utilizing safe, reliable, and appropriate technical skills to provide required results.
Ability to work a project schedule and complete assigned daily work to achieve commissioning goals.
Requires the ability to work/train owners operation and maintenance personnel periodically without any conflicts.
Self-starter, proactive with effective communication skills.
Adequate knowledge of OSHA and applicable environmental regulations.
Adequate knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards for related discipline.
Adequate knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements.
Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors, and other parties connected with the project.
Working knowledge medium / low voltage installation and checkout.
Working knowledge of best practices for installation of conduits, cable tray, supports and cable-pulling techniques
