Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a Structural Designer 2 to fill a 3-year position in Birmingham. The successful candidate MUST live no more than 1 hour from the Birmingham office.

Rates: $40.00 - $44.00
Local candidates only: Must live within 1 hour of the Energy Center.
The Structural Designer 2 position requires 5-7 years' heavy industrial/power plant experience.
Job responsibilities include producing design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, preparing layouts and conceptual designs, and preparing fabrication drawings.
Skillsets and expertise required for this position include being proficient using AutoCAD, extensive 3D modeling experience is a plus, steel/concrete detailing, and the ability to build effective relationship with design engineering staff and/or vendors.
Individual must live within 1 hour of the Birmingham office.
Able to work 1 to 2 weeks in the office at the beginning and can then work remotely after learning what we do.
In-person attendance will be required for office meetings and site visits.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
