SUMMARY:
This GIS Specialist position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining spatial data systems for the Land Department of Georgia Power. The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, data acquisition and maintenance, map production support, QA/QC & metadata.

Rates: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Local Candidates only.
No per diem.
2 years of related GIS experience or recent Geography based college graduate with GIS coursework
Experience with online platforms including Arc Server or Enterprise Portal a plus
Proficient with both ESRI ArcMap and Arc Pro software, including editing and some geoprocessing capabilities
Proficient cartographic skills
Knowledge and experience working with enterprise GIS databases
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional organizational and project/workload management skills

EDUCATION:
Diploma or certificate in Geographical Information Systems or related curriculum.
EXPERIENCE:
0-2 Years Experience in a related field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in managing and updating GIS databases, ensuring accurate geographical data input.
Enter and update data within GIS databases.
Assist in basic map creation using GIS tools. Support GIS Analysts in larger projects.
Attend training to enhance proficiency in GIS software. Ensure data quality and consistency.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
GIS data manipulation and visualization
Combining datasets from many sources to create cartographic products
Creating exhibit maps to be used with land acquisition documents
Producing project update maps and feasibility study maps
Enterprise data management
SKILL SETS & EXPERTISE:
Familiarity with GIS software and tools.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
