** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to fill a contract assignment in Birmingham, AL. It is a 3 year temporary position estimated position.

Rates: $80.00 - $86.00 per hour
Per diem is available if you qualify.
US Citizen required.
Hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses and vest
Successful candidates must provide their own safety boots
Managers are open to hybrid or remote work schedules.

Education and Experience:
The SR Structural Engineer 3 position requires 30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor's & master's degree in engineering and professional engineering license.

Job responsibilities include:
Providing structural engineering services and field support
Conducting preparation of designs and calculations
Conducting site walk downs of construction sites
Developing cost estimates and material takeoffsEx
Providing schedule and staffing input for projects
Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.

Skill Sets & Expertise:
Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
Significant structural steel connection design experience, proficiency with structural codes and standards
Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
Strong computer skills
Proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
Proficiency with OSHA regulations
Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale
Multi-discipline projects
Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff
Design engineering staff and/or vendors.

This position requires driving (excluding commute)
This position requires personal protective equipment

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
