Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL (Hybrid or Remote Available).

Desired Qualifications:
• The SR Structural Engineer 2 position requires 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor’s & master’s degree in engineering and professional engineering license.
• The SR Structural Engineer 3 position requires 30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor’s & master’s degree in engineering and professional engineering license.
• Manager is open to hybrid or remote work schedules.

Job responsibilities include:
Providing structural engineering services and field support.
• Conducting preparation of designs and calculations.
• Conducting site walk downs of construction sites.
• Developing cost estimates and material takeoffs.
• Providing schedule and staffing input for projects.
• Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.

Skillsets and expertise required for this position include:
• Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies.
• Significant structural steel connection design experience.
• Proficiency with structural codes and standards.
• Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
• Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO.
• Proficiency with OSHA regulations.
• Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects, able to perform structural inspections and provide written report.
• Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
