Overview:
The Engineer Design contractor position will assist in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. The right candidate must be a self-starter, excellent communicator, critical thinker and able to make sound decisions.

As our Engineer in the design group, a typical day might include:
Working on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments
Performing assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products
Involved in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components involving maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Performing system balances to determine the best overall solution to solve system issues or identify system low points and methods to best solve them.
Provide oversight and support for construction activities

Rates: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
Local candidates only
No per diem.
This position is hybrid.
Hard hat and vest to be provided. Steel toe boots will also be required but not provided. Applicants will be required to visit active construction sites to coordinate projects, advise personnel, and for learning opportunities.

Education and Experience:

What candidate will need to qualify for this position:
BA/BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or General)
1-3 years of progressive Engineering experience
Or Equivalent academic education and experience

Certifications/Licenses:
Preferred: Engineer in Training (E.I.T.)
You have a high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to leverage internal and external stakeholders to efficiently accomplish tasks and resolve issues
You have the ability and initiative and to work in a self-guided manner and collaboratively
You have a customer focused critical thinking mindset with a demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient in proposing solutions and completing tasks.
You have excellent oral and written communication skills
You can work across a matrix organization structure with horizontal and vertical teams

Skills Required:
Project Management
Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
Computer Assisted Design/Geographic Information System - basic proficiency
MS Office - advanced proficiency
CAD/GIS - intermediate proficiency
