Key Project Requirements:
• Prior electrical maintenance experience in power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and repair systems up to 480V and above.
• Proficiency with NFPA 70E safe work practices and electrical drawings/schematics.
Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support ongoing maintenance and reliability activities at a power generation facility in the Odessa, Texas area. This role is responsible for hands-on electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance, with a strong focus on motor circuits, heat tracing systems, and routine electrical inspections. The Electrical Technician will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant electrical systems, including motor circuits, power distribution equipment, and associated control circuits.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment to service safely and efficiently.
• Utilize electrical diagnostic and testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Megger), and related tools to identify faults and verify equipment condition.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair wiring, control circuits, and power distribution systems.
• Read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, blueprints, and single-line diagrams.
• Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment conditions in CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and NFPA 70E requirements.
Job Requirements:
• Proficiency Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining low- and medium-voltage electrical systems (up to 480V and above).
• Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills with motors, circuits, and auxiliary plant systems.
• Proficiency using electrical test equipment, including multimeters and insulation resistance testers (Megger).
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment walkdowns in an industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Education / Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical maintenance experience in power generation or heavy industrial environment.
• Experience with GE 7F gas turbines preferred.
