** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Environmental Specialist to fill a one-year contract assignment in the Calera, AL area.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Requirements:

Required PPE: Hard hat, Safety shoes, and High Viz Vest

Education & Experience:

A bachelor's degree in biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.
One to five years of experience in environmental sampling and compliance.
Qualifications include familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes
Basic knowledge of environmental regulations
Project management skills
The capacity to collaborate on environmental matters within the organization are necessary.
Experience operating power boats and watercraft
Ability to work as part of a team on multiple projects
Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Effective communication abilities and attention to detail.

The Level 1 Environmental Specialist assists with environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and sustainability initiatives. This role involves collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and support sustainable practices.
