Key Project Requirements:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining gas-fired power plant equipment
• Proficiency with GE 7EA gas turbines and Mark V/VI control systems strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and routine water chemistry testing.
Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to support operations at a simple-cycle natural gas power plant located in Georgia. The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring the plant to ensure safe and consistent operations of the facility. The Operations & Maintenance Technician provides support for operations of all power plant systems, including responding to alarms, facility rounds, supporting plant shutdown, plant start-up, and routine maintenance per plant operations and maintenance procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain GE 7EA gas turbines and balance-of-plant equipment in accordance with site procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform plant start-up, shutdown, and routine rounds to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain and calibrate plant Distributed Control System (DCS), instrumentation, and controls (Mark V/VI preferred).
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and ensure proper documentation.
• Perform lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and other safety procedures per site policies.
• Conduct routine water chemistry tests and adjust systems to meet operational standards.
Job Requirements:
• Proven experience operating and maintaining combustion turbine generating stations.
• Hands-on experience with GE 7EA and/or 7FA turbines strongly preferred.
• Understanding of Mark V and Mark VI control systems.
• Knowledge of plant safety policies including chemical handling, high-energy systems, confined space, and LOTO.
• Familiarity with dispatch protocol and industry regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.
Education / Experience:
• 5+ years experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
