Job Description
This is a 7-week contract assignment that will support the Combustion Turbine plant.
It is located in Gleason, TN.

US Citizenship Required.
1. Supports the Safety Manager in the delivery of tactical day-to-day safety, health and related services to assigned TVA customer base.
2. Consults with customer base, understand the business, and works with line managers to deliver tactical programs which enhance workforce strategies and improve efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness.
3. Proactive in assessing health and safety costs and evaluating trends and best practices.
4. Under the direction of the Safety Consultant/Manager, performs investigations of major events, such as serious accidents and hazardous materials incidents and provides technical direction for the development and implementation of corrective action programs.
5. Perform routine inspections and analysis of job and system hazards, develops recommendations to improve working environments from a safety and health standpoint, and provides field support and assistance to remove work locations for implementation of safety programs.
6. Deliver safety and health initiates in a manner that will lead culture change throughout the TVA organization.
7. Participate in annual compliance inspections for all plants and different organizations as scheduled.
8. Provide guidance and leadership for all safety meetings and participate in safety meetings for assigned organization.
9. Assist plants with administrative support for required forms (1444, CA-1, 18120) and others.
10. Capable of solving a range of straight-forward problems, analyzing possible solutions, and assessing each using standard procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Education –A bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, Safety-Related Engineering or documented evidence of equivalent education, training & experience.
Experience – Minimum of Five years experience in occupational health and safety, which includes project management leading to practical knowledge of the theory and principles related to industrial safety and health, and the protection of facilities and human life, is highly desirable.
Certification/License, etc. — CSP Certification is preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; work on uneven ground; able to bend, stoop, kneel and work in confined spaces; must be able to work in hot and cold stress environments. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position/access requirements and essential job functions.
