Position Summary:
The Regional Operations Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of the Oil, Gas, and Chemical (OGC) operations. The Regional Manager will ensure the successful execution of projects from planning through completion, while maintaining safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence. The Regional Operations Manager will lead cross-functional teams, drive operational excellence, and foster strong client relationships to support business growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction and leadership for all construction operations within the OGC sector for the Midwest operations.
• Directly manage and oversee a team of Project Managers, providing support, guidance, development, and mentorship throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues
• Promote and uphold a culture of safety across all projects, conducting regular inspections and enforcing safety protocols.
• Implement and enforce stringent quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications
• Monitor project financials closely, track expenditures, forecasting costs, and managing project budgets effectively.
• Manage resource allocation across multiple projects, ensuring proper staffing needs.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on business development, client engagement, and long-term growth strategies.
• Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
Job Requirements
• Work Experience:
o 10+ years in industrial or refining construction, with progressive leadership roles
o Deep familiarity with refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial construction projects.
o Extensive experience managing union environments and navigating labor relations, including grievance resolution and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Education:
o Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
• Working Conditions:
o Work is performed in a standard office environment with regular use of computers and other office equipment, except when required to be onsite with client(s).
o Employee will often meet with customers at refineries, including walk-downs of the facility.
o Subject to inside and outside conditions, including high and low ambient temperatures.
o Subject to hazards of operating at elevated levels.
o May occasionally wear a respirator or fall protection harness and lanyard.
o Occasionally be subject to noise levels above 85 decibels and will be required to wear ear protection.
• Physical Activity/Demands:
o Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
o Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
o Regular communication via phone, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.
• Visual Acuity:
o Ability to see clearly at various distances, with or without corrective lenses.
o Ability to identify and distinguish color is required to evaluate color-coded identifications systems.
