** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Controls Technician to fill a one-year contract assignment in the Hueytown, AL area. One year estimated duration, temporary position.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Required PPE: 100% cotton and EH footwear. Agency to provide Hard hat and safety glasses.

Required Skills and Qualifications
0-3 years experience in a Controls Technician or similar role
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate's degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
Experience with AC and DC systems
Overview:
Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
Technicians must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices
Participating in process hazard analyses
Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices.
