Education, Certification, & Experience Requirements
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly preferred
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil engineering.
Job Summary
The Civil Engineer is responsible for executing complete designs for both small and large-scale civil engineering projects. This includes working on gas turbines, renewable energy systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and
transmission infrastructure. The role requires a strong understanding of design principles, construction practices, and interdisciplinary coordination to support the development of complete construction packages.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, and supervise infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, erosion control, drainage systems).
Review and comment on development proposals, plats, drainage reports, and traffic studies.
Assist in developing scopes, drawings, and specifications for procurement and subcontracting.
Provide technical support for permitting and floodplain management.
Review and verify calculations and designs for code compliance and accuracy.
Develop construction specifications and review fabrication submittals.
Perform fieldwork to gather data and support construction.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff and lead small to medium-sized teams.
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project integration and timely delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of the International Building Code and related standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI).
Proficiency in civil analysis software and interpreting results.
Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D & Navisworks).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in virtual, cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
Willingness to travel as needed.
