Job Overview
Job Title: Aero I&E Technician

Project Type: Aeroderivative gas turbine installation, testing, and start-up

Duration: 7+ months

Schedule: 6 x 12s possibly 7 x 12s

💰 Compensation & Logistics
Mobilization: Standard

🛠️ Technical Execution & Responsibilities
Electrical Power & Hardware: Install rigid conduit, cable trays, and supports; pull, terminate, and test MV/LV power cables for motors and distribution panels.

Equipment Installation: Wire major electrical equipment including MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and battery systems; perform motor rotation checks.

Instrumentation: Fabricate and install stainless steel tubing; mount, wire, and calibrate field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).

Controls & Sensors: Setup and stroke control valves and guide vanes (IGV/VSV); install and gap vibration probes and speed sensors (e.g., Bently Nevada).

Testing & Verification: Perform pre-commissioning tests (Insulation Resistance, continuity, phase rotation) and execute loop checks from field devices to DCS/PLC.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex system issues involving both power delivery and control logic.

🛡️ Safety, Quality & Documentation
Standards Compliance: Adhere to strict safety standards for electrical (NFPA 70E, Arc Flash) and pressurized systems.

Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate QA/QC records including Megger sheets, calibration certificates, and weld/torque maps.

Technical Documentation: Red-line electrical schematics and P&IDs to reflect as-built conditions.

Physical Activity: Ability to work indoors/outdoors, climb ladders, work at elevations, and lift 50 pounds in noisy or extreme environments.

📋 Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of combined industrial Electrical and Instrumentation experience; proficient in aeroderivative packages and loop checks.

Technical Skills: Skilled in stainless steel tube bending, NEC knowledge, motor controls, and power termination.

Certifications: Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred; valid jurisdictional driver license required.

Tools: Fluke calibrators, HART communicators, multimeters, hydraulic/hand benders.
