Job Title: Plant Engineer / Electrical Engineer SR
Immediate W2 contract position available in Rincon, GA
Estimated Duration: 12 months

Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
The Senior Electrical Engineer position requires 10 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
This role supports engineering activities at a power-generating plant by providing plant technical support and developing long-term plans and budgets to maintain and improve equipment performance.
Power Generation Engineers manage capital and O&M projects, follow prescribed procedures, and conduct analyses to develop design options and recommendations for plant structures, systems, and components.
This position provides technical direction and troubleshooting support for plant electrical and mechanical systems.
The incumbent conducts ongoing inspections and evaluations of equipment and recommends design and performance improvements, upgrades, and other modifications as appropriate.
This individual serves as a troubleshooting resource for operations and maintenance and must communicate effectively across groups and disciplines to ensure maximum effectiveness.
The role requires strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to make independent decisions with appropriate consultation with management.
Required skillsets and expertise include a strong understanding of engineering principles; experience implementing projects and providing technical direction; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors.
The work environment is a combination of office and field work which will require walking, climbing, and bending.
The work environment can be cold in the Winter and hot in the Summer.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for engineering related activities at a power generating plant.

This position is accountable for providing technical direction and troubleshooting for plant electrical and mechanical systems.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing ongoing inspection and evaluation of equipment and for determining the appropriate direction on design and performance improvements, upgrades, and other modifications.
This individual will be a troubleshooting resource for operations and maintenance.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide outage/project management, project budget management, long term maintenance strategies and technical support to the plant
Develop 5- & 10-year capital budgets and justification for associated capital projects
Provide monthly accruals and budget variance explanations to the Financial Analyst
Utilize computer business tools to develop and justify budgets, write work orders, order material, develop project schedules, and monitor equipment
Initiate, troubleshoot and review root cause analyses for system equipment failures
Work with OEM's and system owners at other plants to stay current of any upgrades or concerns that affect the plant and communicate these needs to plant management, corporate management, and peer groups

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited program/institution is required
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred, but willing to consider other engineering disciplines

Experience:
Experience in a power plant or an industrial facility with mechanical/electrical project or design focus involving the maintenance of the following types of equipment: pumps/motors, air/motor operated valves, fans, condensers, HRSGs, boilers, turbines, combustion turbines, PLC’s, distributed control systems, and industrial electrical switchgear, circuit breakers and transformers
Demonstrated project management experience required
Strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilities required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational, administrative, time management, project management, facilitation and analytical skills are required
Knowledge and experience with personal computers and the ability to learn numerous software applications quickly
Self-motivation and demonstrated initiative are crucial for this position
Ability to interface with vendors and contractors while representing the best interests of Company
Ability to network and utilize subject matter experts at both the corporate level and regional level to support plant systems
Display interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to handle conflict and work effectively within a diverse team
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Flexible to work across primary position boundaries by willingly accepting multiple roles as required to support plant needs

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Must be available to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed
May require some extended work hours
Must be able to be on-call for the plant as needed
Minimal Travel required – 15%
