A millwright is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and dismantling industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in factories, power plants, and construction sites. This role requires precision, physical strength, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
· Install and assemble machinery using hand and power tools, hoists, cranes, and welding equipment.
· Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine installation procedures and specifications.
· Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues in malfunctioning equipment.
· Align and calibrate machine components using precision tools like micrometers, alignment lasers, and plumb bobs.
· Dismantle and reassemble machinery for repairs or relocation.
· Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and dollies to move machinery.
· Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
Skills and Qualifications
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with measuring tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
· Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Job is located in Louisiana with tentative start date of 5/11 and scheduled for 30 days.
Pay will depend on experience and ranges between $28-$32/hr. Per diem is paid @ 125/day if applicable.
