Grid Transitions: Execute seamless transitions between utility-connected mode and island-mode during grid failures. Stability Management: Maintain precise frequency (isochronous control) and voltage stability when disconnected from the grid.
System Integration: Monitor interplay between gas turbines, backup diesel generators, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Turbine Operations: Start, stop, and monitor aeroderivative turbines, specifically P&W FT8 units; track vibration, exhaust spreads, and bearing temperatures.
Thermal Operations: Operate Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) to capture exhaust heat for facility chilling or heating needs. First-Line Maintenance: Conduct hourly rounds; inspect fuel gas compressors and lube oil skids; perform air/fuel/oil filter changes.
🛡️ Safety, Quality & Documentation
Environmental Compliance: Monitor Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) to ensure NOx/CO compliance with local permits.
Emergency Response: Demonstrate capability to perform a "Black Start" during total facility blackouts. Diagnostics: Diagnose trips or alarms on VFDs, PLCs, and motor starters; coordinate with I&C technicians for repairs.
Fluid Analysis: Take samples of lube oil and cooling water for testing and interpret results to detect equipment wear.
