Job Summary:
PIC Staffing is seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician to support operations at a power generation facility in Woodland, California. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. The IC&E Technician will support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while working closely with operations and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Calibrate, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and install plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment
• Perform maintenance on motor control centers (MCCs), motors, generators, transformers, excitation systems, and motor-operated valves
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, DCS systems, DC backup power systems, and emissions monitoring equipment
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities and coordinate work with plant personnel
• Perform electrical switching and support lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with plant safety standards
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and troubleshooting
• Update and maintain CMMS records, including work orders, equipment history, and materials used
• Support small construction and system modification projects, including installation of new equipment
• Coordinate and work with contractors and vendors as needed to complete assigned tasks
Job Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems in a power plant environment
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, DCS systems, and plant control systems
• Working knowledge of low and medium voltage systems, including equipment up to 15kV
• Ability to perform electrical switching, LOTO, and work safely in an industrial environment
• Familiarity with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking and reporting
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced plant environment
Education / Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of five (5) years of power plant experience in instrumentation, controls, and electrical maintenance
• Valid driver’s license required
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $60-$65.
