Job Title: Control Room Operator
Project Type: Waste to Energy (WTE) Power Plant Operations
Duration: 2 - 3 years

Technical Execution & Responsibilities
System Operations: Place into or remove from service boiler-turbine-generator systems and related auxiliary equipment using the Distributed Control System (DCS).
Generator Management: Start, stop, parallel, separate, load, and unload turbine-generator units; adjust voltage to maintain power factor and control in-house VARs.
Thermal Controls: Manage equipment transitions strictly according to time and temperature guidelines to protect plant assets.
Operational Leadership: Monitor plant parameters and direct field equipment operators and support drivers to maintain systems within specified limits.
Technical Expertise: Apply core knowledge of steam boiler mechanics, combustion chemistry, boiler water quality control, and turbine-generator functions.
Safety, Quality & Documentation
Environmental Compliance: Conduct daily inspections of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and control panels to guarantee emissions criteria are met.
Hazard Control: Assist the Shift Supervisor with equipment lockouts and tagouts (LOTO) to maintain an accident-free work environment.
Recordkeeping: Keep precise electronic or written records of all equipment configuration changes and abnormal conditions.
Requirements
Experience: Must have experience in Waste to Energy (WTE) power plant operations.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of standard operator training programs or equivalent field work.
Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of the principles of operation, function, and construction of steam boilers, theory/chemistry of combustion, boiler water quality control, and automatic voltage regulator controls.
Certifications: Valid jurisdictional driver license; must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
