TTS' Industrial Services Group is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Commissioning Engineer to support the startup and commissioning of a large-scale renewable energy facility in the Western U.S.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional who enjoys field execution, complex control systems, and being part of a high-performing startup team.
Responsibilities
Lead I&C commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through system turnover.
Develop and execute Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), commissioning procedures, and test packages.
Perform loop checks, point-to-point testing, instrument calibration, and I/O verification.
Commission PLC, DCS, and SCADA control systems.
Validate control logic, alarms, interlocks, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Coordinate with engineering, operations, OEM vendors, and field technicians throughout commissioning.
Support package equipment integration including process controls, VFDs, and automation systems.
Troubleshoot instrumentation, communication, and controls issues during startup.
Prepare turnover documentation, calibration records, loop folders, and commissioning reports.
Qualifications
7+ years of Instrumentation & Controls commissioning experience in industrial, power generation, process, or energy facilities.
Strong hands-on experience with:
PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems
Loop checks and instrument calibration
I/O verification
Control logic validation
Functional testing
Ability to read and interpret:
P&IDs
Loop diagrams
Wiring diagrams
Cause & Effect matrices
Control narratives
Experience commissioning Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and interlocks is highly preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
Utility-scale power generation or renewable energy projects.
SCADA historian platforms such as OSI PI, Ignition, or similar.
ISA, CCST, PMP, CxA, or similar certifications are a plus.
Work Environment
Field-based position with significant travel during commissioning activities.
