NAES Staffing Services is looking for Operators to work in Fort Collins CO on a long-term contract position. This position pays $55/hr plus per diem ($178 daily) Looking for candidates to work 6 to 12 month durations with possible extensions (until 2030). Prior power plant experience is REQUIRED. The Plant Operator performs checks and operates all plant equipment and systems. This position collaborates with leadership and other plant personnel to ensure a safe, cost effective, and environmentally compliant operation.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Completes detailed, periodic checks on the plant instrumentation and equipment associated with the boiler, steam turbine-generator, air quality control, water treatment, and combustion turbine generator units
• Collaborates with and provides recommendations to shift supervisor and other plant personnel regarding the management of plant equipment and systems
• Maintains and creates daily electronic reports of equipment operational concerns and
communicates those to peers in operations, maintenance, and management
• Interfaces with the plant Distributed Control System (DCS) to operate air quality control and ash handling equipment in compliance with environmental regulations
• General knowledge of DCS as it relates to plant equipment including pump stations, combustion turbines, coal handling and sootblowing
• Identifies and leads troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions and creates work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Ability to maintain an alert status while working on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including night, weekend, and holiday work for 24 hour/7 days per week coverage
• Working knowledge of power plant or other industrial facility's fundamentals and how industrial plant equipment relates to each system
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form with peers, supervisors, and managers to maintain professional working relationships with all personnel
• Ability to clearly direct personnel using the plant two-way radio system
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, piping, and instrument drawings (P&IDs)
• Ability to execute and understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment and keep updated on current developments and modifications within assigned areas; proactively updates and improves operating procedures
• Experienced in Microsoft Office programs
• Proven time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other personnel
• Ability to solve basic math problems like calculating flow within piping systems, computer percentages, and determine tank volumes
• Knowledgeable of industry safety procedures and protocol including personal protective
equipment, Tagout/Lockout, confined space and fall protection
