Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a degreed and experienced GIS Technician to fill a contract position in Atlanta, GA. This is estimated to last 3 years.

Rates: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour
Local Candidates only.
US Citizenship required.
5 + Years Experience in a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems or related curriculum

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee GIS technical operations, ensuring optimal data management and visualization practices.
Lead complex GIS projects, from data management to visualization.
Mentor junior GIS technicians.
Ensure alignment of technical activities with GIS strategies.
Engage with stakeholders on GIS technical requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in GIS technical operations.
Proficiency with linear referencing techniques and concepts is highly recommended
Knowledge of the Utility and Pipeline Data model (UPDM) is highly recommended.
Provides specialized queries, maps and reports to meet customer requirements/specifications
Performs application testing and documentation of defects
Interfaces with users; documents requested/needed changes
Processes, prepares and converts data to enter into GIS from a variety of data formats
Perform QA/QC on version data that pushes to the production environment

5 + Years of in-depth experience with GIS tools, databases, and methodologies
Esri ArcGIS Pro advanced proficiency
Esri ArcGIS 10.2x advanced proficiency
Linear referencing - advanced proficiency
MS Office suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) advanced proficiency
Esri ArcGIS Enterprise intermediate proficiency
Utility Network intermediate proficiency
Model Builder intermediate proficiency
Python intermediate proficiency

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
