TTS' Industrial Services Group is looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Systems (ICS) Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up of a large-scale advanced manufacturing facility in the Northeaster US. This is a full-time, onsite field assignment supporting the transition from construction to manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for DCS, PLC, BMS, and SCADA systems.
- Perform digital and analog I/O verification from controllers to field devices.
- Support FAT and SAT activities and verify control-system databases and graphics.
- Test control loops, sequences of operation, interlocks, permissives, and alarms.
- Support loop tuning during start-up and operating-load conditions.
- Verify control-system networks, communications, redundancy, and platform integration.
- Coordinate point-to-point checkout with instrumentation and electrical teams.
- Conduct system walkdowns using P&IDs, drawings, and approved test packages.
- Identify, document, and track deficiencies and punch-list items through closure.
- Maintain commissioning documentation and support system turnover.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, vendors, and facility operations.
- Follow established LOTO, energization permit, SIMOPS, and other safe-work processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant field experience may be considered.
- At least 10 years of commissioning and start-up experience within industrial, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, or cleanroom facilities.
- Hands-on experience commissioning DCS, PLC, SCADA, and BMS systems.
- Experience with loop checks, loop tuning, FAT/SAT, and control-system integration.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical single-line diagrams, control drawings, and system documentation.
- Working knowledge of commissioning test packages, checklists, punch-list management, and system turnover.
- Familiarity with instrument calibration and traceability requirements under applicable ISA standards.
- Strong commitment to field safety and established commissioning procedures.
