Job Description
** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for a degreed Engineer to fill a one-year contract assignment in the Atlanta, GA area.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
Job Title: Engineer 1
Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Must be local or willing to relocate at candidate's own expense.
Required PPE: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs, Steel Toe Shoes, & Safety Vest
Required skillsets and expertise:
0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.
Introductory engineering knowledge
Basic problem-solving skills
Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor
Basic discipline
Software knowledge
Strong work ethic
Positive attitude
The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
Additional Requirements:
Candidate must have previous experience with walking down and marking up mechanical prints.
Candidate must have experience with doing CAD work for mechanical P&IDs.
Job responsibilities include:
• Applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems
• Supporting estimate preparation, developing design options, and preparing construction specifications
• Providing guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages
• Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first
• Understanding the process used for planning, design, construction, and maintenance
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
• Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design
• Understanding industry and Company design standards
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations
• Estimating material for projects
• Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications
• Prescreening Questions Mandantory:
• Do you have Power Generation, heavy industrial, or related work experience?
• Do you have experience with walking down and marking up mechanical or electrical drawings?
• Do you have CAD experience? If so, please describe your experience.
