Drafter II – Transmission / Survey

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Drafter II to support transmission line surveying and right-of-way projects. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of drafting experience and strong CAD skills related to survey, transmission line, right-of-way, boundary, and topographic drawings.

An Associate Degree in Drafting and Design is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Perform CAD drafting for transmission line projects.
Prepare drawings for:
Transmission line centerlines
Right-of-way surveys
Boundary surveys
Topographic surveys
Land tie surveys
Interpret survey data, deeds, plats, and other property-related documents.
Prepare and write metes and bounds descriptions and centerline descriptions for assigned projects.
Research existing survey and real estate records.
Support survey field crews and office personnel with project-related drafting and documentation.
Contact local, county, and state agencies to obtain right-of-way and property information.
Review survey information for completeness and accuracy.
Organize and transmit completed project drawings and documentation.
Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, field crews, and other project personnel as needed.
Qualifications
2–5 years of drafting experience required.
Associate Degree in Drafting, Design, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience using CAD drafting software.
Experience with surveying, transmission lines, utilities, or right-of-way projects preferred.
Knowledge of metes and bounds, property descriptions, survey plats, and right-of-way documentation preferred.
Ability to read and interpret deeds, surveys, maps, and engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with both field and office personnel.
