Location: 100% Remote with Up to 100% Travel
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform precision machining operations on turbine and generator equipment in the field.
· Set up and operate a variety of equipment, including portable and stationary lathes, milling, boring, grinding, and drilling machines.
· Utilize precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality on every job.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and charts to execute work safely and correctly.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Certificate in Machining Technology or hands-on related machining experience.
· 2-10+ years of hands-on technical training through a trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent real-world machining/manufacturing experience. More years of experience can be considered for higher-level positions.
· Willingness to travel extensively.
· Security Clearance Ready: Must pass an extended background check, including drug screening, to obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.
· Global Mindset: Must be willing to obtain and maintain a valid passport for international assignments.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Comfortable working significant overtime, including 12-hour shifts across varied schedules.
Physical Requirements:
1. Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, including equipment and tools.
2. Stamina: Ability to work long hours, including 12-hour shifts, often in physically demanding conditions.
3. Mobility: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods while performing machining tasks.
4. Manual Dexterity: Proficient use of hands and fingers for operating machinery, tools, and precision measuring instruments.
5. Vision: Good eyesight, including the ability to distinguish colors and read technical drawings and schematics.
6. Balance and Coordination: Ability to maintain balance while working on uneven surfaces or at heights, as well as coordination for operating machinery safely.
7. Endurance: Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, noise, and confined spaces.
8. Safety Awareness: Must be able to adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
These physical requirements ensure that the Field Machinist can perform their duties effectively and safely in diverse and challenging environments.
