TTS' Industrial Services Group is looking for a hands-on Senior Planner/Scheduler with extensive experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or other complex process-industry projects.

This position requires someone who can independently develop, build, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules—not someone whose experience is limited to coordinating meetings, collecting progress updates, or monitoring schedules developed by others.

The ideal candidate has direct experience planning and scheduling capital projects, maintenance activities, turnarounds, outages, or facility construction using Primavera P6. This individual will work closely with engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, contractors, and project management to convert project scope into a fully logic-driven and executable schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently develop detailed project schedules from scope documents, drawings, work packages, estimates, execution plans, and field walkdowns.

  • Build complete Primavera P6 schedules, including work breakdown structures, activity coding, durations, relationships, calendars, constraints, milestones, and critical-path logic.

  • Develop schedules that integrate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.

  • Break project scope into detailed, measurable, and executable work activities.

  • Establish schedule logic based on actual construction sequencing, system dependencies, access limitations, outages, material availability, and operational requirements.

  • Resource-load schedules using labor, equipment, quantities, production rates, and contractor staffing plans.

  • Develop and maintain schedule baselines in accordance with the approved execution plan.

  • Perform routine schedule updates using verified field progress and remaining-duration assessments.

  • Evaluate actual progress against the baseline and forecast future performance, completion dates, manpower requirements, and critical milestones.

  • Analyze the critical path, near-critical activities, float erosion, missed logic, out-of-sequence progress, and emerging schedule risks.

  • Develop recovery, acceleration, and schedule-mitigation plans when work falls behind.

  • Review contractor schedules for logic, completeness, sequencing, manpower feasibility, and alignment with the overall project schedule.

  • Integrate contractor and subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule.

  • Conduct schedule reviews with project management, engineering, construction, operations, and contractor representatives.

  • Produce look-ahead schedules, progress curves, manpower forecasts, milestone reports, variance reports, and executive-level schedule summaries.

  • Support change management by evaluating the schedule impact of scope changes, delays, design revisions, material issues, and field conditions.

  • Maintain accurate schedule narratives, assumptions, basis documents, progress records, and supporting documentation.

  • Participate in field walkdowns to validate work scope, construction status, remaining work, and schedule accuracy.

  • Work directly with field leadership to ensure the schedule is realistic, properly sequenced, and usable as an execution tool.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on planning and scheduling experience within refinery, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, power generation, or comparable heavy industrial facilities.

  • Demonstrated experience personally building and managing detailed schedules in Primavera P6.

  • Experience developing schedules from the ground up—not only updating, monitoring, or reporting against existing schedules.

  • Strong understanding of critical path method scheduling, schedule logic, float, constraints, resource loading, baselining, progress measurement, and forecasting.

  • Experience supporting capital projects, maintenance projects, turnarounds, outages, brownfield construction, or facility upgrades.

  • Working knowledge of industrial construction sequencing across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural, and commissioning.

  • Ability to translate project scope and field execution requirements into detailed, logic-driven schedule activities.

  • Experience working with engineering, procurement, construction, operations, maintenance, and multiple contractors.

  • Ability to independently identify schedule risks, challenge unrealistic assumptions, and recommend executable recovery strategies.

  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and reporting skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard project reporting tools.

  • Ability to perform field walkdowns and work in an active industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, Microsoft Project, or other planning and work-management systems.

  • Turnaround or outage planning and scheduling experience.

  • Experience with resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.

  • Experience developing Level 3, Level 4, and detailed execution schedules.

  • Experience producing schedule narratives, S-curves, manpower histograms, earned-value reports, and recovery schedules.

  • Electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, piping, or multi-craft planning experience.

  • Current TWIC card.

What We Are Looking For

Successful candidates must be able to clearly explain how they have personally:

  • Built a detailed Primavera P6 schedule from project scope.

  • Developed and validated schedule logic and construction sequencing.

  • Resource-loaded and baselined a schedule.

  • Collected and verified actual field progress.

  • Managed schedule updates and forecasted completion.

  • Identified critical-path delays and developed recovery plans.

  • Used the schedule to actively drive project execution.
