Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Task Project Manager – Electrical / Nuclear Outage to provide field leadership and oversight for electrical construction, modification, maintenance, and outage activities within a nuclear power generation environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge of electrical craft activities, including cable routing, cable pulling, cable terminations, continuity testing, troubleshooting, electrical penetrations, and Roxtec cable transit systems. This position will oversee contractors and craft personnel, ensure compliance with procedures and quality requirements, and support safe, timely execution of outage and project work.
Key Responsibilities
Provide field oversight and leadership for electrical construction, maintenance, modification, and outage activities.
Direct and monitor electrical craft work involving:
Cable routing and installation
Cable pulling
Cable terminations
Continuity testing
Electrical troubleshooting
Containment cable penetrations
Roxtec cable transit installations
Oversee installation, inspection, sealing, and quality requirements associated with Roxtec cable transit systems.
Support electrical penetration assembly (EPA) work, containment cable routing, terminations, and electrical field implementation activities.
Provide oversight of contractors, electricians, supervisors, and craft personnel.
Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved procedures, work packages, drawings, quality requirements, and outage schedules.
Conduct job walkdowns and verify field conditions prior to work execution.
Participate in and/or lead pre-job briefings.
Review work packages, procedures, drawings, and implementation plans.
Perform field observations to verify safe, compliant, and efficient work execution.
Identify and communicate emergent issues, schedule impacts, safety concerns, and quality issues.
Coordinate closely with Site Project Leads, station management, planners, engineering personnel, supervisors, and other project stakeholders.
Support outage planning, scheduling, implementation, and closeout activities.
Apply nuclear human performance tools, safety culture expectations, corrective action processes, and work management practices.
Ensure strict procedure use and adherence throughout field execution.
Monitor project progress and provide timely work-status updates to project and station leadership.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience leading electrical construction, maintenance, modification, or outage activities in an industrial, power generation, or nuclear environment.
Demonstrated experience directing electrical craft activities.
Strong experience with:
Cable routing
Cable pulling
Cable terminations
Continuity testing
Electrical troubleshooting
Experience with Roxtec cable transit systems, including installation, inspection, sealing requirements, and quality oversight.
Working knowledge of electrical penetration assemblies (EPAs) and containment cable routing.
Proven ability to supervise contractors and craft personnel in an active field environment.
Experience conducting:
Field walkdowns
Pre-job briefings
Work package reviews
Field observations
Work execution oversight
Strong understanding of safety, quality, schedule, and procedural compliance.
Ability to effectively communicate project status, field issues, schedule impacts, and corrective actions to management and project stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous commercial nuclear outage experience.
Experience working inside containment and radiologically controlled areas.
Previous experience at Plant Vogtle.
Knowledge or experience with AP1000 nuclear technology.
Utility power generation or nuclear construction experience.
Experience with PMS/PLS cabinet terminations.
Experience implementing electrical modifications.
Experience with containment penetrations and EPA termination activities.

Physical Requirements
Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts during pre-outage and outage periods.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods in large industrial and construction environments.
Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
Ability to work on uneven surfaces including grated flooring, concrete, gravel, and active construction areas.
Ability to wear required PPE, including:
Hard hat
Safety glasses
Hearing protection
Safety footwear
Other site-required protective equipment
Ability to obtain and maintain required radiological access.
Ability to wear protective clothing required for work inside containment and other controlled areas.
Ability to perform inspections and field observations in confined or restricted work areas, as authorized.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials, equipment, or documentation weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
This position is primarily field-based within an operating nuclear generating station and active industrial/construction environment.
The role requires frequent work in plant, construction, and outage areas, including potential work inside containment during outage activities. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, noise, vibration, dust, outdoor weather conditions, and other typical industrial plant conditions.
The position requires strict adherence to Southern Nuclear safety programs, procedures, human performance expectations, quality requirements, and radiological protection standards.
Extended work hours, shift work, weekends, and holidays may be required to support pre-outage planning, outage execution, and station schedules.
