Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Thacker Pass, Nevada.

Overview

This role involves supervising mechanical craft professionals on a large-scale lithium project located in the high desert of north-central Nevada. The position focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in mechanical operations and team coordination.

Responsibilities

Supervise mechanical craft professionals and direct their activities and work schedules
Coordinate subcontract work activities and team development
Ensure craft professionals have the necessary tools and resources for productive work
Manage union craft personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards
Develop and monitor construction plans and control the work according to schedule and budgets
Ensure adherence to project policies, procedures, and environmental, safety, and health regulations
Support and enforce safety programs, including OSHA requirements and Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety initiative
Maintain positive customer relations and effective communication with stakeholders
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent
8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Familiarity with construction tools and equipment and their uses
Extensive technical knowledge in mechanical operations
Experience managing union craft personnel
Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience
Knowledge of construction planning, monitoring, and control
Understanding of subcontract responsibilities and documentation
Strong knowledge of environmental, safety, and health regulations and standards
Excellent customer relations and communication skills
