Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Thacker Pass, Nevada.

Overview

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing electrical operations on a construction project. This role involves ensuring safety compliance, managing craft personnel, and coordinating project activities to meet safety, schedule, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide electrical leadership to personnel assigned to the area, including safety procedures and safety meetings.
Inspect sites for unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices in collaboration with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
Champion the zero accident philosophy and ensure compliance with safety codes and standards.
Monitor craft activities for compliance with specifications and schedules.
Manage project costs, schedules, and labor optimization, maintaining lookahead schedules for labor and equipment.
Interface with industrial relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
Review craft time records and approve subcontractor mobilization and demobilization.
Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within electrical operations.
Coordinate with the general foreman on hiring and operational planning.
Prepare and review material requisitions, construction testing, and project reports.
Plan manpower and equipment needs, perform employee reviews, and identify training opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

University/BS degree in engineering or construction management plus 10-13 years of experience or 14-17 years of equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree.
Heavy industrial direct hire union construction experience related to electrical work.
Extensive experience in installation, termination, and operation of electrical systems.
Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power plant construction preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
Ability to develop 3-week lookahead schedules and manage teams effectively.
Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, working on elevated and uneven surfaces, and lifting as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Practical skills in electrical equipment installation from final termination to operation.
The work involves field supervision with physical requirements such as extensive walking, climbing, working on elevated and confined spaces, and lifting. The candidate must be able to use PPE appropriate for the tasks involved.
