Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight of the project's ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities.
Assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with safety requirements and addressing ES&H issues during project execution.
Work with engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, and document controls teams to ensure ES&H requirements are integrated into their activities.
Conduct daily site surveillance to verify the proper use of PPE, routine equipment inspections, and implementation of ES&H initiatives.
Coordinate a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health disciplines to facilitate ES&H program and management system implementation.
Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings to advise teams on safety requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety and environmental protection.
Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audit findings, and corrective actions.
Analyze ES&H data to identify performance trends and recommend improvements.
Lead risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring of ES&H issues.
Communicate, prepare reports, and document program activities and records.
Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports.
Recommends and implements process improvements to minimize hazards.
Participate in and potentially lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.
Research and interpret regulations, providing technical advice on moderately complex issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree related to environmental, safety, health, or science disciplines.
8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required.
Understanding of Bechtel's ESH Core Processes (preferred).
Experience performing root cause analysis for incident investigations.
Conducting Project Contractor Orientation.
Leading and implementing Project ESH Audits and corrective action monitoring.
Coaching contractors on Bechtel processes and safety expectations.
Knowledge of safety programs, regulations, industry standards, and best practices for minimizing ES&H risks during construction.
Experience managing or overseeing ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
