Responsibilities
• Provide technical oversight of the project’s ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities.
• Assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with project safety requirements and address ES&H issues during project execution.
• Work directly with other project-level functions (engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, document controls) to address ES&H requirements in their work activities.
• Conduct daily site surveillance to verify adequate use of PPE, routine equipment inspections, and project ES&H initiatives.
• Coordinate a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of the ES&H program and management system.
• Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings to advise teams and contractors of safety requirements.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety, environmental protection, and community safety.
• Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Prepare communications, reports, and documents for program execution and records retention.
• Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports.
• Participate or lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.

Requirements
• Requires a Bachelor’s (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards.
• Understanding of Bechtel’s ESH Core Processes (preferred).
• Ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.
• Experience leading Project Contractor Orientations and ESH audits, monitoring corrective actions.
• Coaching skills for Contractor Project and Safety Teams on Bechtel processes and expectations.
• Knowledge of safety programs, principles, engineering systems, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with national safety laws and industry standards for ES&H.
• Experience with ES&H assessments/inspections during construction.
• Skilled in managing or providing oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
